Certified in Adult, Children’s, Prenatal and Equine Yoga
Somatic yoga specialist Shirley began her yoga journey with a wish to bring yoga and creative movement to children. She is a certified children’s yoga teacher and trainer. She explored and studied authentic movement, improvisational dance and choreography with the intention of enhancing her programs for children. This included work with the Colorado State University Dance program “Education in Motion”. These experiences allowed positive expressive possibilities. Connecting freely and cohesively with the body, feelings and mind were invited. Shirley stepped towards bringing the possibilities to adults through Somatic yoga. Shirley has completed over 300 hours of adult yoga training and another 200 hours of training and experience in a variety of somatic approaches. She blends her knowledge of the varied approaches, including Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement, into her classes, workshops and trainings. She brings movement, breathwork, mantra, restorative yoga and sound together, offering complete immersion in presence and awareness. The process becomes an ongoing discovery toward a sense of wholeness, balance, wellness and renewal. Shirley believes in heart centered sharing and hopes that through her offerings many will find joy and community.
